What does Šanon do?
Šanon is an encrypted family archive — a place to keep the important documents (invoices, contracts, warranties, receipts, medical records) and find them at any time by text, by category, or via the AI assistant.
Where are my documents stored?
Everything is encrypted locally on your iPhone and in your own iCloud. No third-party cloud. The operator has no backend and no access to your documents. Details in the Privacy policy.
What happens if I forget my password?
If you forget the master password AND the 6-digit backup PIN and lose every device with an active Face ID session, we have no way to decrypt your data. That's why Šanon generates an Emergency Kit PDF during onboarding with a recovery key — store it in a safe offline place (print + safe, encrypted disk).
Does it work without internet?
Scanning, OCR, categorization and search work fully offline. Sync between devices and the AI assistant (optional) require an internet connection.
What is an "AI Provider"?
Šanon can suggest a category, vendor and expiry date for a document using AI. The AI runs either fully on the device (Apple Intelligence, EN only) or via your own API key with Anthropic Claude or OpenAI. Never through our server — the operator does not see the contents of your documents.
How much does it cost?
V1.0 is free. If you use an AI Provider with your own key, you only pay for the API calls actually made at that provider (typically just a few CZK per month for family use).
How do I delete all my data?
In the app: Settings → App → Delete all data. This wipes all documents, encryption keys and the iCloud zone. It can't be undone. For full removal, uninstall the app.
Does it work on iPad / Mac?
V1.0 is iPhone-only (iOS 18+). iPad is supported but the layout is iPhone-optimized. A Mac version (via Mac Catalyst) is planned for V2.
Known V1.0 limitations
- UI is Czech-only (an English version is planned for V2).
- Apple Intelligence on-device AI does not support Czech (Apple limitation) — for CS AI extraction use a BYO Claude / OpenAI API key.
- Family Approval recovery (multi-member recovery without an Emergency Kit) is not in V1. We recommend storing the Emergency Kit PDF in a safe place.
Security and privacy
Details on what the app does with your data are in the Privacy policy. Short version:
- End-to-end encryption (ChaCha20-Poly1305 + Argon2id + Secure Enclave).
- No analytics, no crash reporter, no tracking SDK.
- No third-party cloud — only your own iCloud + optionally your own AI key.
